Opening Activity

I think that her facts were quite right because the way she talked about males and females can be seen happening in real life. When she says that males usually think that they do well at something because they think their awesome or so smart. While for females, I guess most of the girls underestimate themselves because the people I know are always wondering if this was the right or wrong thing to do and such. I think that if women had more leadership roles then it might be a good thing because maybe females will stop underestimating themselves. Though, I think that there should be a male and female in the leadership roles so that both sides have equal opinions on things.

Opening Activity

From reading the article, I think we should add what were going to sell like J.A.S.T.S FLOWERS or something like that. I also think that we should make the name a bit more catchy so that it can attract the attention of people. Also, if our name has more of the product, then we wouldn't have have to explain what our products are. I think that our name is easy to read and different though, the article says that we should make our name understandable, meaningful, and broad.

Opening Activity

1. How will you do your bookkeeping? Can you use a template or software program? Name the program you intend to use.
I think that our group will keep track of our supplies and such on the computer and we will use Microsoft word.
2. Last class you projected cash flow for your assignment, what did you learn?
I have learned that you should make reasonable choices like the amount we are going to spend and we should think of the bad and good things that could happen to our business. I also learned that if you don't keep track of your cash flow, then your business might need to change their prices and such.
3. How will you ensure that you get paid on time?
I learned that you should have someone in charge of the money and that it is important that you let your customers know the prices.  Also, you need to have control; if you don't then the company may run out of cash fast.

Opening Activity-Video

I have learned from watching that video would be that we should help the world become a cleaner and better place. If we keep doing what were doing now like transmitting tons of carbon dioxide and littering, then in 2020, the world will be in troubled and that would mean the future generation would be in trouble as well. Also, the things we are doing are bad for the biosphere. I also learned how to calculate the impact we are having on the environment by using the formula I=PXA divided by T. "I" stands for Environmental Impact, "T" stands for Technology, "P" stands for Population, and "A" stands for Affluence.

How ethical are you?

Opening activity

What can you take from this video into your own work?
In this video, he says that instead of following one idea or concept, its better that we should have diverse ideas. I think that this "concept" will be good for our main business because instead of using one idea, we should use a bit of everyone ideas. I also think that after using one idea, everybody will get tired of it and will  stop buying our products. So if we have a variety of ideas, then it may keep our main business running.

How do convincing speakers vary their speech when they speak for different purposes and to different people?
I think convincing speakers can change their tone and the way they speak depending on where they are or what they are doing. Like for example, if they were with their friends, then they would talk casually and not too professional. Though, if they were at a meeting, their tone and the use of words would be different. Plus, they would want to sound professional and convincing.

What would happen to businesses if everyone had unlimited cash?
If everyone had unlimited cash, then businesses would be great because people can buy many products.  Though, it could also be a bad thing too, because if people have money, then they wouldn't need to work and supplies wouldn't be made.

Business Fundamentals

The Same Boat
I think that the picture means that if everybody stopped working, then the economy would go down.

Profit: Babysitting
Non-Profit: Women's shelter
Not to Profit: Churches
Whats the difference between non-profit and not-for-profit?
Profit is when you gain or benefit from your business while not-for-profit is when the money you make goes to charity.

2nd picture:
I think that this picture means that they didn't notice that the economy or stock markets were going down.

What is the connection between profit, costs, and expenses?
I think the connection between profits, costs, and expenses would be that they all relate to money.

What are the positive and negative ethical, moral and legal considerations when considering alternative energy sources over oil?
When thinking about using alternate energy sources like solar panels, the positive side of it, is that it will be good for the environment but the negative part would be that when its not sunny, you can' t go anywhere.

3rd picture:
I think that this picture wants to show that the social security system pays early investors with the money from late investors.

Name and describe a game that simulates an economic system by trading in virtual goods?
Harvest Moon DS: In this game, you are a farmer and you have to buy items such as vegetable seeds, fruit trees, etc. and grow them. When you harvest them, they are ready to be put in the "shipping box", in return you get money. With that money, you can buy clothes, food, seeds, and other stuff.
